Ballston/Ballston Spa/North Ballston Spa  View Map
Ballston Spa is home to two museums, the Old Iron Spring, and is well known for its Victorian architecture and charming downtown. The National Bottle Museum features an eclectic collection of bottles both old and new and regularly features collections from around the world. The Brookside Museum serves as the home of the Saratoga County Historical Society. Its collection provides a wonderful history of the County. Throughout the village, you’ll find a mix of antique stores, specialty shops, restaurants and artisans. Area lodging options include a full service Inn with a spa and Bed and Breakfasts. Visitors can also play golf at either Ballston Spa Country Club or Pioneer Hills Golf Course. Major annual events include the Saratoga County Fair

The Historic Hamlet and Town of Charlton provides a rural atmosphere for visitors, with an array of outdoor opportunities. Charlton is home to several agricultural operations, including family farms that offer hay rides, corn mazes, Christmas trees and more. 
 
Clifton Park  View Map
Featuring an astounding selection of shopping, Clifton Park is a great place to spend the day or a weekend. Home to retailers ranging from antiques to the largest chain stores, you’ll be sure to find that special something amongst the many options. Clifton Park also has a proud connection to the Erie Canal. The Vischer Ferry Nature and Historic Preserve is large swath of land along the canal, which features a collection of trails and nature viewing opportunities. Bird watching is excellent at the preserve. Area lodging options include large chain hotels and other smaller-scale properties. Clifton Park is also home to several high quality golf courses including Eagle Crest Golf Course and Van Patten Golf Club.  
 
Corinth  View Map
Known as the “Snowshoe Capital of the World”, Corinth is located in the Adirondack Park. Outdoor recreation is one of the top things to pursue while in Corinth, however a scenic ride along the Hudson River with views of the looming Adirondacks in the distance would be just as enjoyable. Outdoor opportunities include snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking, boating and more. Jessup Landing Pathway, with views along the Hudson River, starts at the Town Beach and leads you to Pagenstetcher Park. The town also features shops, galleries, eateries and a local museum.

First settled in 1797, the Town of Day has been a haven for outdoor enthusiasts from day one. The area features scenic drives down just about any road, flush with the splendor of the Adirondacks. Here you can canoe, cross-country ski, boat, hike and more. The town also features a local museum at the Town Hall, which is open seasonally. The Conklingville Dam, which was constructed to control the flow of the Hudson and Sacandaga Rivers, offers a beautiful scenic view of the area.  
 
Edinburg  View Map
Edinburg boasts the only covered bridge remaining in Saratoga County and one of the few remaining in New York State. The Copeland Covered Bridge has recently been restored and is open to pedestrian traffic only. There is a peaceful waterfall nearby. Edinburg is also home to the Batchellerville Bridge, which spans 3,100 feet across the Great Sacandaga. Both the Nellie Tyrrell Museum (formerly the Beecher Hollow School House) and the Rural Museum, which features early logging equipment, are open seasonally in the town. The town lies along the Great Sacandaga and is a haven for boaters. Several eateries and marinas are available for visitors. 
 
Galway  View Map
Galway, a quaint village located in Western Saratoga County, is home to several shops and restaurants sure to please any visitor. Known for its sweeping vistas and outdoor recreational opportunities, Galway is host to several campgrounds and Galway Lake.  
 
 
 
Gansevoort  View Map
Gansevoort is home to several campgrounds and the 18 hole Airway Meadows Golf Course. One of the most unique courses you’ll ever play, Airway Meadows is an actual working airport surrounded by acres of golf. Visitors can also go skydiving at the airport in Gansevoort.

Lying at the foothills of the Adirondacks, the Town of Greenfield features Brookhaven Golf Course, an 18-hole public course. Greenfield is also home to several campgrounds. 
 
 
 
Hadley  View Map
The Town of Hadley features great opportunities for whitewater rafting and kayaking and outdoor recreation in general. The recent development of a “rodeo hole” and guaranteed summer-long water flows make this one of the finest areas for whitewater anywhere in the Northeast. Enthusiasts travel from far and wide to paddle along the Hudson and the Sacandaga Rivers at the Sacandaga Outdoor CenterHadley Mountain is just a few miles outside of town and offers commanding views of the entire region and the Southern Adirondacks. There is a recently restored fire tower at the summit. The recently restored Bow Bridge is the only parabolic bridge that is still in its original location and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The town features a charming bed and breakfast, several shops and dining establishments, and the 9-hole Bend of the River Golf Course.    
 
 
 
Halfmoon  View Map
The Town of Halfmoon is situated along the banks of both the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers. It’s location along the rivers and the Erie Canal, created a long heritage of water-based shipping operations. Halfmoon has the unique distinction of being the first Town Hall in the United States, constructed in 1978, to have solar energy. Within the town of Halfmoon, in the city of Mechanicville, is the Fairways of Halfmoon golf course, an 18 hole, Par 71 public course.

Malta is home to the action-packed Albany-Saratoga Speedway and the 198 acre Saratoga Lake Golf Club. Within the town of Malta, lies the village of Round Lake; a charming Victorian village in Southern Saratoga County. Steeped in Victorian tradition the Round Lake Auditorium features antique organ recitals and musical concerts routinely throughout the summer. The Village also hosts an Annual Antiques Festival and an Arts and Crafts Fair. The Zim Smith Recreational Trail also runs through the Town of Malta and the Village of Round Lake. Malta is also home to the Double M Rodeo.

Within the Town of Moreau lies the Village of South Glens Falls. This area boasts impressive historical and natural tourism offerings. Moreau Lake State Park was recently named one of the Top 100 campgrounds in the nation by reserve America and features myriad opportunities for outdoor recreation. South Glens Falls is home to the famous Cooper’s Cave, which inspired James Fenimore Cooper’s The Last of the Mohicans. Today visitors can learn more about the novel and the Mohicans through interpretive signage at a platform overlooking the cave. 
 
 
 
Northumberland  View Map
Located on the banks of the Hudson River in Eastern Saratoga County, the Town of Northumberland has many opportunities for visitors. The geological marvel and historically significant site of Starks Knob is located in Northumberland. It is speculated that this site, which overlooks the Hudson Valley, was a key in the American victory at the Battle of Saratoga. Named after John Stark, the site also has geological significance. Starks Knob is formed from volcanic rock, and is one of only a few in the Northeast that is comprised of submarine pillow lava called pillow basalt. Within the Town of Northumberland lies Gansevoort. Gansevoort is home to several campgrounds and the 18 hole Airway Meadows Golf Course. One of the most unique courses you’ll ever play, Airway Meadows is an actual working airport surrounded by acres of golf. Visitors can also go skydiving at the airport in Gansevoort. The Hudson River and Champlain Canal also run through part of Northumberland, along the Lakes to Locks Passage. Agri-tourism opportunities also are present, whether it be visiting a working dairy farm or picking blueberries.

A nature lover’s paradise, the Town of Providence lies in the Western part of Saratoga County, near the Great Sacandaga Lake and the Southern Adirondack tier. An array of outdoor opportunities exist, including anything from ice fishing to hiking.

Rexford lies along the Mohawk River, providing ample opportunity for boating and rowing excursions, bird watching and more. Rexford is also home to the Edison Club Golf Course

Saratoga  View Map
The Town of Saratoga’s history is the history of America. Within the Town of Saratoga, lie the villages of Schuylerville and Victory Mills, which all have prominence in Revolutionary War history. The Battle of Saratoga, known as the Turning Point of the American Revolution happened here. Named one of the 15 most pivotal battles in World history, the Battle of Saratoga featured heroics by Benedict Arnold and the defeat of British General John Burgoyne. Historical site markers dot the Town, but the biggest attractions are Saratoga National Historical Park, Schuyler House, the Saratoga Battle Monument and the Field of Grounded Arms, where the British surrendered ceremoniously. The Lakes to Locks Passage along thge  Hudson River and Champlain Canal also runs through this area, allowing for many outdoor activities to take place. Visitors can also check out the working canal locks and the Visitor Center and Canal Park along the shores in Schuylerville.  
 
 
Saratoga Springs  View Map
Character, history, and charm are just a few of the reasons Saratoga Springs was named as one of America’s Dozen Distinctive Destinations by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. However, this sort of acclaim is nothing new to Saratoga.

Saratoga Springs is perhaps best known for its Thoroughbred racing. The Thoroughbred season opens in late July and runs through Labor Day. The world’s best horses highlight the thrill and excitement at Saratoga Race Course, leading up to the famous Travers Stakes that takes place in late August. From jazz to opera; ballet to rock, the Saratoga Performing Arts Center is one of upstate New York’s popular cultural sites. Saratoga Springs host major festivals including the Hats Off and Final Stretch Music Festivals, the Victorian Streetwalk and Winterfest, which features a Chowder competition. 
 
Located in the beautiful Saratoga Spa State Park, the Performing Arts Center shares its home with the recently opened Saratoga Automobile Museum, The National Museum of Dance, the championship Saratoga Spa Golf Course and the Roosevelt Mineral Baths & Spa. These attractions are complimented by two pools, a historic hotel, hiking and biking trails, flowing mineral water springs and a theater company.

Saratoga is also home to Saratoga Casino and Raceway. With over 1,700 video lottery gaming options, live harness racing from February through December, several dining options and a night club called Vapor, Saratoga Casino and Raceway is an exciting venue to visit while in Saratoga.

Saratoga is well known as a city of museums, featuring two National Museums - the National Museum of Dance and the National Museum of Racing. Other museums include the Tang Teaching Museum at Skidmore College, the Children’s Museum at Saratoga, the New York State Military Museum and the Saratoga Automobile Museum. 
 
Several golf courses are available in the area including top-rated Saratoga National Golf Club

Saratoga is only a three-hour drive from Boston, New York and Montreal. 
 
 
Schuylerville  View Map
Schuylerville, named for General Philip Schuyler of the Revolutionary War, has a wonderful mix of historical and natural attractions. Historical sites within the village include the Schuyler House and the Field of Grounded Arms, where the British surrender after the Battle of Saratoga officially took place. The village lies along the Lakes to Locks Passage, the Champlain Canal and the Hudson River, allowing for many outdoor activities to take place. The Champlain Canal, inspired by research done by Philip Schulyer, was America’s first canal. A visitor center and canal park are located centrally in the village along the waterway. The village has had an influx of artisans and restaurants downtown, creating a wonderful atmosphere for visitors. There is also a marina for boat traffic, many of whom proceed on through the Lakes to Locks Passage north to Lake Champlain and Canada or South into the Hudson Valley. 
 
 
 
 
South Glens Falls  View Map

Stillwater  View Map
Stillwater played a prominent role in the Battle of Saratoga, and is home to the Saratoga National Historical Park and the Stillwater Blockhouse. Saratoga National Historical Park is known as the site of the “Turning Point of the American Revolution”. The Battle of Saratoga, which took place on the grounds, has been identified as one of the fifteen most important battles in world history. The park has a visitor center, book and gift shop, offers a 20 minute orientation film and a tour road that is open seasonally. The Park also is a prime spot for outdoor recreation with ample opportunity to bike, hike or bird watch.    The Stillwater Blockhouse formerly served as the visitor center on the Saratoga National Historical Park grounds, but was moved to a scenic spot alongside the Hudson River and the Lakes to Locks Passage. The Blockhouse features many artifacts and exhibits on the area. The village of Stillwater has many offerings for visitors, including restaurants, shops and more. 
 
 
Waterford  View Map
Waterford is a significant location for transportation history in the State of New York. Located at the convergence of the Hudson and Mohwak Rivers, (and subsequently the Champlain and Erie Canals), Waterford has developed a proud cultural history around these waters. Visitors can revisit the area’s history at the Waterford Museum, where cultural exhibits bring the history of Waterford to life. Waterford is also home to the Waterford Flight of Locks, which is the highest flight of locks in the world, located along the Erie Canal. Peebles Island State Park is also located in Waterford and features excellent rapids and river views along with opportunities for outdoor recreation. Fortifications were also built on Peebles Island during the Revolutionary War to halt Burgoyne’s advance down the Hudson River. Boaters also frequent the Waterford Visitor Center located on the Hudson River/Champlain Canal. The Visitor Center offers a wide range of amenities for boaters and wonderful riverside views for all visitors. Waterford is also home to the unique annual Tug Boat Roundup Festival
 
Wilton  View Map
The Ulysses S. Grant Cottage is located on Mount McGregor in Wilton. Grant came to the area in the late 1800’s to pen his memoirs, and died while in Wilton in 1885. Wilton is also home to the Wilton Wildlife Preserve, which is an 800 acre preservation that serves as the habitat for the endangered Karner Blue Butterfly. The preserve features many scenic trails and is open to the public. 
 
 
Victory/Victory Mills  View Map
The Village of Victory is the aptly named home to the Saratoga Battle Monument, a testament to the American forces triumph at the Battle of Saratoga. Located directly next to Schuylerville, these two villages were significant sites for the Revolutionary War. The Saratoga Battle Monument, a 155 foot high obelisk, is part of the Saratoga National Historical Park and is open seasonally to visitors.
